Installation Guide
ZETA Cartridge Installation
This guide covers the necessary steps to install the ZETA damping cartridge.
A more detailed installation video will follow.
Before You Start
If you do not feel comfortable installing the cartridge yourself, you can book our factory installation service .
This guide applies to compatible Fox and RockShox right-side-up suspension forks.
For Intend USD forks, factory installation is mandatory for now. Please add the factory installation service to your order.
When installing new suspension components, we highly recommend performing a full lower leg service at the same time. If your lower leg oil is dirty or if your last lower leg service has been a while ago, complete the lower leg service first and then follow this guide to install the cartridge.
Always refer to the fork manufacturer’s service manual for fork-specific disassembly procedures, safety instructions, spare parts, and service requirements.

Installation
01Remove the original cartridge
Remove the original damper cartridge according to the fork manufacturer’s service manual.
This usually involves removing the external adjuster unit at the top of the fork and loosening the foot nut or bolt at the lower end of the fork leg.
02Drain the lower leg oil
Drain the oil from the lower leg.
Make sure the lower leg and casting bore are clean before installing the ZETA cartridge. If the oil is dirty, perform a lower leg service before continuing with the installation.
03Install the ZETA cartridge
Insert the ZETA cartridge from the top of the fork.
Align the shaft end with the bore in the lower leg casting and guide it through the bore.
Install the bottom nut and tighten it with a 13 mm socket to 5 Nm.
If the shaft spins freely while tightening, use a 4 mm hex key through the center of the shaft end to hold it in place and tighten the bottom nut with a 13 mm spanner.

04Install the LSR adjuster
Unscrew the grub screw from the LSR adjuster using a 2 mm hex key.
Carefully guide the LSR adjuster onto the bottom nut. Make sure the adjuster sits flush against the bottom nut and spins freely.
Apply a tiny amount of medium-strength threadlocker to the grub screw.
Reinstall the grub screw and tighten it to 1 Nm.

05Refill the lower leg lubrication oil
Refill the lower leg from the top with 40 ml Motorex Supergliss 68K.
Motorex Supergliss 68K has proven to provide very low friction and consistent lubrication performance. Other oils may perform differently and are not recommended as chassis lubrication.

06Set the High-Speed Rebound Tune
Before installing the top cap, set your High-Speed Rebound Tune.
Slightly pull the cartridge upward and gently wiggle it left and right until the HSR adjuster locks into place.
Hold the cartridge in this position and turn the adjuster fully clockwise to close it.
From this position, count the desired HSR clicks by rotating the adjuster counter-clockwise.
Push the cartridge back in to disengage the adjuster.

07Install the top cap assembly
Screw the top cap assembly into the fork crown using an HG cassette tool and tighten it to 28 Nm.

08Attach the compression adjusters
Attach the compression adjusters by aligning the hex features on the parts.
Apply a tiny amount of medium-strength threadlocker to the LSC adjuster screw.
Use a TX10 Torx tool to tighten the LSC adjuster screw in the center to 1 Nm.
Hold the LSC adjuster while tightening to avoid loading the internal adjuster mechanism.

09Set your base setup
Set all adjusters according to your recommended starting setup.
Clicks are counted from fully closed, turned fully clockwise in the “+” direction.
Final Check
- Bottom nut tightened to 5 Nm
- LSR adjuster installed flush and spinning freely
- Top cap tightened to 28 Nm
- Compression adjuster screw tightened to 1 Nm
- Lower leg on damper side filled with 40 ml Motorex Supergliss 68K
- Adjusters set according to the recommended base setup
Ready to Ride
Your ZETA cartridge is now installed.
Start with the recommended base setup and fine-tune from there on the trail.
Enjoy your new suspension setup.
