About SIMONS.LAB

SIMONS.LAB started as a personal project in 2023, driven by a simple question: What if a suspension damper could be adapted to different riders, spring rates, and preferences without having to take it apart every time the tune needs to change?

The idea came after another long workshop session, covered in oil, reshimming a fork damper for what felt like the hundreth time, in search for a setup that felt right. At some point, the process started to feel unnecessarily complicated. There had to be a better way.

Since I was already looking for a topic for my Master’s thesis in Mechanical Engineering, I decided to find out.

Looking back, developing a suspension damper as a thesis project was probably not the fastest way to finish - but it became the foundation of SIMONS.LAB.

What followed were countless hours spent understanding suspension physics, designing parts, building calculation tools, machining prototypes, running dyno tests, and testing every possible iteration on the trail.

Over time, the project became more than just a thesis. The concept worked, the feedback was positive, and the idea of turning it into a real product started to feel realistic.

Working together with Intend turned out to be a fortunate coincidence. Their experience in suspension manufacturing, production partners, and logistics infrastructure helped bring the project beyond the prototype stage.

Fast forward three years: SIMONS.LAB launches its first product - ZETA.
